Location: Located on 1st and Wisconsin, this hotel is in the perfect place if you’re hear to tour the city, attend Summerfest, or just enjoy the downtown area. I’m a big fan of the Hampton Inns and find them to be clean, comfortable and welcoming. There is no restaurant located on-site here, but if you’re on 1st and Wisconsin, you definitely should venture out into the city at one of the many great Milwaukee restaurants around that area. Location: Located at 6th and Michigan, this hotel is also right in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, however unlike many of the other downtown Milwaukee hotels, this is probably one of the most reasonably priced. This is your standard, run of the mill hotel...nothing fancy or extravagant about it, but as with other Ramada Inns, offering a clean, comfortable place to stay.

Park East Hotel in Milwaukee
916 East State Street
Milwaukee, WI 53202
(414) 276-8800

Price: $$ - $$$

Amenities: fitness center, on-site dining, downtown shuttle service, on-site parking, rooftop deck

Location: Formerly the Park East Hotel in Milwaukee, it is now named Comfort Inn and Suites, this hotel has numerous banquet facilities frequently utilized for business and training purposes. Located on the corner of Astor and State Street, it is literally right across the street from Juneau Park, and within walking distance of the War Memorial Art Museum, Veteran’s Park and the Lakefront. This hotel is wonderful for business functions and I have to admit that I did enjoy attending trainings here years ago. However, it is not a hotel that I would pick if I were visiting the city. The price of rooms starts just over $100, and can go up to over $200. To be blunt about it, it’s just not a fancy hotel, and it doesn’t strike me as very warm and inviting. I’d opt for one of the other downtown Milwaukee Hotels.
