Hilton Hotel Milwaukee

Which one will you choose?

Hilton Hotel Milwaukee City Center
509 West Wisconsin Avenue
Milwaukee, WI 53203
(414) 271-7250

The Hilton Hotel Milwaukee City Center is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee on 5th and Wisconsin. This hotel sports the famous Paradise Landing Indoor Water Park, and is a perfect place if you need to be in the heart of the city and you’ve got little ones that need constant entertainment. Be prepared to check the availability of the water park, as it is frequently closed during the weekdays.

Other amenities include a fitness center, business center, high speed internet access, meeting rooms, PETS ALLOWED, wheelchair accessible, wireless access, and on-site dining.

The Hilton Hotel Milwaukee City Center is known for it’s upscale accommodations, and it’s flare for customer service. Guest rooms start at about $112 if a full, non-refundable payment is made in advance, and go up to $249 if additional packages are purchased, such as access to the water park, the Harley Davidson Museum, the Romance Package or Bed and Breakfast Buffet.

Plainly put, this hotel reminds me of some of the fancier hotels in the downtown Chicago area. Décor is more traditional and renaissance than what coincides with my taste, but a lovely hotel none-the-less.

More information about the City Center Hilton Hotel can be found at the official Hilton - City Center Official Site (opens new window).

Hilton Hotel Milwaukee River
4700 North Port Washington Road
Milwaukee, WI 53212
(414) 962-6040

Now this is my type of hotel! Located right on the Milwaukee River and just off of the interstate at Hampton Avenue (approximately 4 miles North of Downtown), this hotel is in a great location.

Amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, business center, high speed internet access, meeting rooms, PETS ALLOWED, wheelchair accessible, wireless access, and on-site dining. The meeting rooms at this location are quite spacious, and the on-site dining is a fabulous seafood restaurant – the Anchorage.

The Anchorage overlooks the Milwaukee River with outside dining throughout the summer. The atmosphere is casual to formal, and the food is really quite tasty!

Hotel prices start at $89 per night and go up to about $99 depending on room selection.

It deserves special mention that this Hilton Hotel is located just across the street from Solly’s Grille, the home of the famous “Butter Burger.” As hard as it is to believe, I used to live right behind Solly’s and I’ve never been to this diner. I just couldn’t get past the image that my brother painted for me of the butter being slathered all over the burger as he watched the cook prepare it. (Regardless of this, my brother is a HUGE fan of Solly’s and can’t wait to move back to this side of town!)

Solly’s reportedly has some of the best burgers in town!

And just down from Solly’s (all within walking distance, by the way) you’ll find Sprecher Brewery, home to our very own Sprecher Beer. The brewery does offer tours, however they’re not quite as popular as the other brewery tours around town, so you should be sure to call ahead to schedule.

More information about the Hilton Hotel on the Milwaukee River can be found at the official Hilton - Milwaukee River Site (opens new window).

Hampton Inn and Suites Milwaukee Downtown
176 West Wisconsin Avenue
Milwaukee, WI 53203
(414) 271-4656

If you’re certain that you would like to stay in the downtown area, and you know you want a Hilton Family hotel, but you’re not too convinced about the “posh” surroundings at the Hilton Hotel City Center, consider this hotel.

Inside it’s got the look and feel of a hotel on the outskirts of the city, it is part of the Hilton Family Hotels, and it’s located in the heart of downtown at 1st and Wisconsin Avenue.

Prices start at $109 and go up to about $149 depending on the package that you select. Amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, business center, high speed internet access, meeting rooms, wheelchair accessible, wireless access, and whirlpool.

Sorry, no on-site dining, however you’re literally right in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of lots of good restaurants.

Personally, I would opt for a place like Hampton Inn and Suites any day! I stayed one night at a Hampton Inn on a horrendous trip from Florida to Wisconsin. When I arrived at that hotel, sick and completely exhausted, I found the Hampton Inn to be absolutely delightful and so very comforting.

Rooms are spacious, bed linens are exceptionally comfortable, clean and soft, and the room was clean and pleasant.

More information can be found at the official Hampton Inn and Suites Milwaukee Downtown site (opens new window).

I hope that this information helps you decide which Hilton Hotel Milwaukee is the right location for you.

Enjoy your stay!
