Lakefront Festival of the Arts

The Lakefront Festival of the Arts is held every year along the Milwaukee lakefront. The festival is hosted by the Milwaukee Art Museum, and provides space, or “booths”, for a large number of artists who are displaying and/or selling their original works.

Years ago this event took place at Veterans Park, however for the last several years, it’s not only been hosted by the Milwaukee Art Museum, but it's been held there as well. I suspect it will stay in this location.

The artwork on display, and for sale, is truly incredible! The variety was amazing – there’s something for everyone.

If you’re looking for an original piece of artwork for your home, this is the place to go. I took a couple of pictures of the grounds, but did not want to infringe on any of the artists by taking photos of actual canvasses, clothing, sculptures or jewelry. (Also, I don’t believe it is allowed!)

I didn't think I would be infringing on anyone's rights if I added a picture of this little guy! There were several painted "people" along the fence just outside the festival. I believe these were works donated by kids from a local school.

I didn’t stay too long at the festival, but there was entertainment – the Irish Dancers performed around noon, and plenty of food and beverages to suite my needs.

Next year I’m definitely planning on purchasing an item or 2 for my home!
