The Milwaukee Museum of Art

Should be visited by everyone at least once,
even if museums aren't your thing.

The Milwaukee Museum of Art is located right along Lake Michigan at the end of Michigan Avenue. And, in my humble opinion, it has brought about a huge amount of prestige and notoriety for Milwaukee!

The Art Museum is located at the end of Michigan Avenue between Discovery World Milwaukee and the War Memorial Milwaukee. The official address is:

I have to say that Milwaukee stepped it up a notch when they added ”The Calatrava” to it’s landscape! I think Milwaukee became just a bit more “swank” once this structure was built...too cool not to visit at least once in a lifetime.

I’ve been to the Milwaukee Art Museum several times, and even though I’m not an art fanatic, I enjoyed it both times, and have found the featured exhibits to be incredible.

The Milwaukee Art Museum can interest even a non-museum person such as myself. I would recommend that you tour this facility during one of the exhibits that you’re interested in. You’ll not only get to tour that particular exhibit, but will also have access to the entire museum afterwards.

The Art Museum also hosts the Lakefront Festival of the Arts. Previously this festival had been held along the Milwaukee Lakefront however now it is quite appropriate housed at the Art Museum.

The Festival of the Arts is a grand festival-type activity for the art community. Many of the exhibits are for sale and feature outrageously talented artists. If you’re looking for unique pieces to add to your home or office space, this is the place to go.
