The War Memorial Milwaukee
A Beautiful Museum and Tribute to Our Service Members!
The War Memorial Milwaukee has quite a mission: ”To Honor the Dead by Serving the Living” I have a hard time writing this because even as I type, I have a friend who is serving in Iraq. I’m ashamed to admit that until it affected me personally, I did not understand the magnitude of the sacrifice made by so many men and women across this country. The War Memorial is first and foremost, a tribute to those in the Armed Forces, and it does this by supporting the arts and diverse cultural activities at the center. I did not realize how truly impressive this center was until I recently attended a conference there. The conference rooms were incredible, as is the view over Lake Michigan. The center is located at: The War Memorial 750 North Lincoln Memorial Drive Milwaukee, WI 53202 (414) 273-5533 War Memorial Website (opens new window)This is an AMAZING place to have a wedding ceremony and reception! If your ceremony is in the warmer summer months, the entire event can be held on the rooftop overlooking Lake Michigan. The website has photos of this, and it is truly breath-taking! The War Memorial is also a great place for business conferences and meetings, and has a large conference center that can be divided into smaller rooms for more intimate gatherings.
